What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is an ancient therapy that dates back to Ancient Egypt, India and China. It is a method of activating the body's own healing mechanism.
It is based on the theory that every organ, gland and part of the body is represented by a reflex on the foot (or hand) and that by applying pressure to these reflexes, congestion and vital energy pathways are cleared.
How might Reflexology help me?
Reflexology may be used to help restore and maintain the body's natural equilibrium. It encourages the body to work naturally to restore its own healthy balance.
Reflexology may help with the following conditions:
Headaches and migraine
Sleep disorders
Hormonal imbalances
Digestive disorders
Infertility
Back pain
Stress related conditions
Many other health problems
How will I feel after a reflexology treatment?
After one or two treatments your body may respond in a very definite way. Most people notice a sense of well being and relaxation; sometimes people report feeling lethargic, nauseous or tearful, but this is transitory and part of the healing process. Please let me know how you feel as it will help me tailor a treatment plan specific to your needs.
How much does a treatment cost?
The cost is £25 for an hour. Please note that at your first appointment we will have a chat about your health and lifestyle to enable me to tailor the treatment to your requirements. You will therefore need to allow up to an hour and a half for your first session but don't worry - you still get an hour of reflexology and there is no charge for the consultation.
If you have to cancel an appointment please give 24 hours notice otherwise a cancellation fee may apply
Vertical Reflex Therapy (VRT)
In April 2010 I attended Vertical Reflex Therapy Basic and Advanced Courses with Lynne Booth who developed this unique reflexology technique where the feet are briefly treated in a standing, weight bearing position. There appears to be a profound change in the body's receptiveness to healing energies when the feet are standing as deeper, and possibly new, reflexes are accessed. VRT has been successful in treating may health problems and I have introduced it into my practice at no extra cost.
